zoo day

A group of friends from work and I went to the Fort Worth zoo a few weeks ago and I am just now getting around to posting the pics from our trip. There was five kiddos and four mommies. I only took a few pics but I thought I'd share them since they are cute. This is Luke and two other boys. One is about 3 weeks older than Luke and the other is about 6 weeks younger, however, Lukes head is the biggest.

run, Forest, RUN!

I have been saying that I wanted to start running again once I was done breastfeeding, but I kept finding an excuse not to. So I have decided to start small and set a reasonable goal for now. I am aiming to run the 5K in the Fort Worth Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving. This photo is of the three of us at the Turkey Trot this past Thanksgiving. Gene did the 5K and Luke and I met him for the 1 mi fun walk.

Although Luke and I go on 45 minute walks in the neighborhood 5+ times each week, I haven't really worked out in a while. Tonight was my first night back at the gym. I took it very easy but was still pleased with my workout. I spent 45 minutes on the treadmill varying speed (3.5-5mph) and varying incline for 45 min and completed 3 miles in that time, without having a stroke. Hopefully now that I have committed this to the world, I will keep it up. We'll see....
