Three is a magic number. ..

4 Fort Worth siblings share birthday
By DIANE SMITHStar-Telegram Staff Writer
FORT WORTH -- Nicole and Johnathan Madison learned firsthand that Three Is a Magic Number.
Really.
As the song Multiplication Rock goes, "A man and a woman had a baby ..." In the Madisons' case, the baby is their daughter, Brittyn. When she turned 3 on Friday, along came three more babies -- Gage, Braxtyn and Graham.
"I can't believe the Lord blessed us with four beautiful children," Nicole Madison said Monday from Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital, where the triplets were born. "We were going to stop at two."
The number 3 seems to be the theme in the triplets' new lives. Nicole Madison's water broke at 3 a.m. in the 33rd week of pregnancy. She delivered three healthy, natural triplets -- no fertility drugs.
The Madisons, both 32, of Haslet, believe that triplets must run in her side of the family because her great-great-grandmother had them, too.
Natural triplets account for about 1 in 10,000 births a year, neonatologist Chad Barber said.
So, 3 + 1 = 4 Madison siblings who now share a birthday.
With the birth of Brittyn's little sister Braxtyn, the girl/boy ratio at the Madison home is tied 2-2. It's 3-3 if you add their parents.
Mom and babies are doing fine. Fittingly, the triplets, who were 3 days old Monday, were introduced to Star-Telegram photographers shortly after 3 p.m.
